Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (CHRI), Gwalior, founded by Late Smt. Kamla Sahai and Late Shri Shitla Sahai in the memory of their beloved son Late Shri Rajeev Sahai whom they lost due to cancer (Osteosarcoma). It is a non-profitable hospital for cancer treatment. The trust was formed by Sahai couple way back in year 1971 under the society’s registration Act 1860. The institute started functioning with mere 30 beds to begin with, which eventually grew to the present capacity of 306 beds.
Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (CHRI), Gwalior, is a comprehensive cancer care center and a unit of JAN VIKAS NYAS. It is the first cancer hospital in Madhya Pradesh accredited with prestigious NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) 5th edition approved certification for implementing high standards of quality and safety for extensive care of patients.

Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (CHRI), Gwalior, is one of the regional cancer hospitals recognized by Government of India. The hospital is spread across 266 acres of land with future expansion plan, equipped with Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pediatric Medicine and Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Heamato-Oncology, Medicine Department, Bone Marrow Transplant and supporting facilities like- Department of Radio-diagnosis, Pathology, Transfusion Services, Nuclear Medicine (PET-CT) and Anesthesiology. The hospital has other services like- Preventive Oncology, Physiotherapy, Palliative Care, Day Care, Cancer Awareness Services Emergency Services and Support Services which are important services for impeccable patient care.
CHRI runs with the primary mission to provide excellent and affordable healthcare facilities to all sections of society with a careful human touch, whilst maintaining high standards of ethical practices and professional competence emphasizing on training and education leading research.
Hospital is empaneled with many Government sectors such as Ayushman, CGHS, ECHS, M P Police (PHPS), Airport Authority India, Railways, and other Third-Party Administrator (TPA). etc. to provide cashless facilities.
All the departments in CHRI are using the appropriate quality management tools and methods to identify areas for improvement in-order to fulfill the mission and the strategic goals. CHRI has “State-of-Art” four modular operation theaters. Hospital has recently acquired linear accelerator to ensure accuracy of radiation dose placement without compromising on the safety of nearby critical structures. In addition to these services, this new and improved form of treatment also saves patient’s time and relieves his/her apprehensions and anxiety.
